PURPOSE:
Allows an out-of-state producer, exporter, importer, or rectifier to take orders from retail customers by telephone, mail, catalog or the Internet. The orders must be shipped into the state to a licensed Arizona wholesaler. The wholesaler must sell the product to a licensed retailer. The retailer will deliver the spirituous liquor to the customer.
ADDITIONAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Direct Shipment licensee may not sell its product to an Arizona wholesaler at a cost higher than the lowest price at which the item was sold by the producer or supplier to any other wholesaler.
A Direct Shipment licensee must comply with the provisions of Title 4 as if an in-state licensee. Violations of Title 4 may result in a fine or civil penalty and the suspension or revocation of the right to do business in this state.
AVERAGE APPROVAL TIME: One (1) to seven (7) days.
PERIOD OF ISSUANCE: Three (3) years. Not renewable. A person who holds a Direct Shipment license may apply for a new license not more than ninety days before the expiration of the person's current license.
